Sunset on the Nile

copy.jpgcopy-1.jpg

Just a quickie to let you know all is well down here in Worcester. Thanks on behalf of Linda for the birthday wishes, I hate to think how many 21st birthdays she has had to date.
We celebrated this one in Luxor Egypt. Spent a week on a cruise along the Nile seeing the sights i.e The Valley of the Kings, and Queens lots of temples with fantastic history and the Aswan dam. Just amazing. The second week we did nothing but laze around in our five star surroundings in temperatures of 40degrees +. getting nicely sun tanned.
Back to work on Sunday night if I can make it. It’s going to be strange as I have been off for three weeks and I am sure it will take some getting used to.

I’ll just finish off with a little story as that seems to be the trend these days.

Gordon Brown was visiting a primary school and as par for the course he went into one of the classes. They were in the middle of a discussion related to words and their meanings. The teacher asked Mr Brown if he would like to lead the discussion on the word tragedy.

Thus the illustrious leader asked the class for an example of tragedy.

A little boy stood up and offered, “If my best friend who lives on a farm is playing in a field and a tractor runs over him and kills him, that would be a tragedy”.

“No” said Gordon, “that would be an accident”.

A little girl raised her hand, “If a school bus carrying fifty children drove over a cliff, killing everyone inside, that would be a tragedy”.

“I’m afraid not”,explained Gordon,”That’s what we call a great loss”.

The room went silent. No other children volunteered. Gordon searched the room.” Isn’t there any one here who can give me an example of tragedy”?

Finally, at the back of the room, little Jeremy raised his hand. In a quiet voice he said “If a plane carrying you and Mr Darling to Iraq was struck by a friendly fire missile and blown to smithereens, that would be a tragedy”.

“Fantastic” exclaimed Gordon,”Thats right, and can you tell me why it would be a tragedy”?

“Well”, says Jeremy,”It has to be a tragedy, because it certainly wouldn’t be a great loss, and it probably wouldn’t be an accident”.

Fly the flag don’t hit them with it

Hi All,

I just had to take time out from my hectic schedule(ha-ha) to let you know how I feel with regard to all this talk about nationalism.

I,( like the majority of the people in this country,) am totally dismayed with the way that this goverment has brought this country to near catastrophe.I do not feel however, that  nationalist policies that would not normally be considered by the average U.K.citizen, are the answer to all our problems.

I do feel that Nick Griffin and the British Nationalist Party would take advantage of the current situation,  just as in the great depression of the 1930’s  Hitler and his Fascist criminals  took advantage of the German Nation by creating a wave of nationalism against the Jewish nation. We all know what happened next.

The problem with nationalism is it seems to attract  thugs and  troublemakers  who are determined to take advantage of the situation by committing  violent acts against anybody that they take a dislike to.

I am sure that the majority of population want, as I do, for their children and grand children to  live in a society free from fear no matter what race or creed they may be.

 I’ve had my say now

love to all

Richard

Hi Everybody,

just a few lines to let you know that all is well with us down here in Worcester. Like everyone else we are really looking forward to the warmer weather arriving, although the temperatures of late haven’t been to bad at all

.We are all in fine fettle down here apart from the aches and pains that come with age. As Linda says”You wake up one morning and you can’t move your arm,the following morning  the arm is fine but you can’t walk” and so it goes. Still I suppose we should be grateful that we still wake up.

Our little Nathan is growing up fast and is a little treasure, such a wonderful child, obviously does not take after his Poppa (thats the name he chose for me). His foot is fine but he still has to wear his bar for sleeping in and will do so until he starts school. He’s already a cracking little footballer and you should see him taking a throw in, quite special for a two year old.

I know its been a while since I posted on the blog, but when one works a six day week , one has to prioritise and eating, sleeping and family take up most of my time, so I hope you will show a little forbearance towards my erratic posts. I do however keep myself updated on a daily basis to see if there is any news from the rest of you.

I hope this finds you in the best of health

all our love

p.s I don’t know how I managed to duplicate the photo but at least it arrived on there

HELLO EVERYBODY IT’S US(or Greetings from Worcester)

No I don’t have a guilty concience Andrew, this is my third attempt at writing a piece and actually managing to publish it.Somewhere in the ether are two photographs of Nathan complete with accompanying scripts so if anybody comes across them let me know.Everyone here is in fine fettle I am glad to say and looking forward to CHRISTMAS with our little Nathan. He is really starting to be a little boy now (no longer a baby) and is full of  the wonders of growing up.He spends a lot of time with us, as Lucy is back at work(needs must when you have a mortgage round your neck),and we love every minute of it,He is such a good little soul, never cries and is never miserable.(obviously does not take after his grandad). We also have the pleasure of looking after Jacob (Rebeccas dog )while they are at work so between the two of them Linda and I are kept rather busy.Lynda from Brid can you phone us, as my dear wife would like to talk to you about ginger biscuits and how to make them like Little Prue. For some reason they are not quite right.Ted has our number if you haven’t got it.

Thought you might like this

I dreamed death came to me last night
and heavens gate opened wide,
with kindly grace an angel came
and ushered me inside!

and there… to my astonishment
stood folks I’d known on Earth,
some I judged and called “unfit”
and some of little worth;

indignant words rose to my lips
but never were set free;
for every face showed stunned suprise….
not one expected me!!!

Riddle

Andrew

You really must make them harder than that

the answer to your riddle is,      on a map.

now here is one for you

WHO CREATED THE CREATOR?

A QUESTION FOR ANDREW

Hi brother,

you know how I stand on the subject of religion and I don’t disrespect anyones right to believe whatever they choose  whether it be sikh, christianity, muslim or any other faith.

If the only way to avoid hell and damnation is through Jesus, does this mean that a man(or woman) who have been evil all their lives can be saved by becoming a follower of Jesus, and somebody who has followed the Christian  way all their lives but has never found the faith will be condemned to eternal damnation and if so WHY?

If not could a Muslim who  has  done good  deeds all his/her life (and this is the majority ) find themselves inside the pearly gates alongside all the followers of Christ

luv

Richard

Hi Everone out there,

just a few lines to let you know that all is well with us down here.

We have finally got rid of all the workmen that have been here since the beginning of March and we are slowly

getting things back to normal(if there is such a thing).I have just a few (120)slabs to lay  and to create a new back entrance to the garden and then we will be done.

Nathan is really growing up now and really has a mind of his own,we think he is going to be a locksmith or a safecracker as he has a thing for keys and locks. At least I now have an excuse for losing my car keys.

Don’t swat the fly on the wall all he is saying is what everybody else is thinking

Belated congratulations  to Phillip and Allison on the birth of Edward Terrence. We will try and be earlier next time.

As for Bob? Have anybody logged on to www.singsnap.com   look up the name roboticus and you will find out what he does with his spare time.Go on Bob sock it to ‘em

Magic Moments

This morning Linda and I took Jacob out for an early morning walk through one of our many nature reserves. We followed a winding brook through the hills of Suckley, the sun was shining (a rare happening this summer)and everywhere was silent apart from the birds and the sound of the brook.

We left the brook and followed a small path up the side of the valley through the wood and following the path along the tops we suddenly came upon a meadow , in front of us was such  a carpet of wild flowers it was breath taking.Patches of blue, yellows, pinks and white covered the whole area.We stood for a while in the warm early morning sunshine in the middle of this wonderland and listened to mother nature talking to us,as only she can.

Truly one of those magic moments.

p.s Jacob is Rebeccas dog who is boarding with us at present.

Hi Ted & Family????

Just to let you know that there is life on the other side of the blog.Everybody is just fine and dandy and our youngest addition is almost crawling now.

The sun is actually shining at the present time but it has rained for most of today. I can understand Peter taking sailing lessons, if this weather keeps on He could well be building an ark,(no animals of course Just the Talbot clan, judging by the photograph you posted).

I thought I would try and cheer you up by submitting some of my own .

Is this what we have to look forward to?
