Sailing fun in Barrow park!

Can’t turn my back for a minute …..

Phew, I pop out for a while and when I come back fly-on-the-wall is out of his box and at it again.  Sorry about that folks.

And do you remember Pat?  I didn’t until I looked him up in the subscription list.  The only Pat we have there is Pat from Australia who was in touch with us briefly last year.  He set off to see his brother in a plane loaded with lager and a kangaroo and we heard no more.  Nice to hear from you again Pat and to know that you are still reading the blog.  If you have chance fill us in with what you have been doing since we last heard from you. I can’t remember your pet kangaroo’s name but give him our regards if he is still around.

Things have been quiet for a while, but that is the way we keep in touch.  I have been busy gardening and playing boats.  Also had one or two days out in the sunshine and done some coarse fishing.

Last Thursday we had a lovely day in Yorkshire visiting my lovely aunt Clarice. The Newton bypass has shortened the journey time to just over an hour; it was a nice day weatherwise and a good run over. And, of course, the time spent with Clarice was delicious - so much so that I intend to repeat the trip in the not too distant future - about a month, I think.

Everything is OK with everyone as far as I know.  I dont get much feedback these days. Previously everyone used to share things with mum and I used to “earwig” and keep up to date.  But they say “No news is good news” and I certainly get no news so everything must be good with everyone!

Terrible day for yacht sailing today. I went down with my boat this morning and found every member of the boat club skulking in the clubhouse out of the wind. Not a boat in sight on the water. So we just had a good natter. Peter and Daniel were there too.  They had come to watch the boat sailing which hadn’t happened, so they spent their time talking about boats and boatclub membership and I think quite enjoyed it.

One chap was lamenting that four club members had died during the past year and that he was to be the next.  I asked to see the ticket he had booked but he didn’t have one.  Then he confided that his wife was now 91 years of age and he was “well into his nineties”. And he is still sailing boats - or remembering the times he did.  Not bad eh?  Must be something in the air around the boating pond that keeps ‘em going!

Not like the air around my house a couple of weeks ago.  Every year the farmer cuts his first crop of hay and then liberally sprays the field with the last year’s cow poo which he has saved. This is to enrich the ground so that it will produce a second crop. My house is next to the field so you can imagine the pong for a day or so. Fair makes the eyes water.

Incidentally, I haven’t been able to contact Bob for a while - are you there Bob?  Keep in touch.

Well I think that I have now contributed my bit so I will stop.  If you get fed up with reading all about my news give us some of your own as Barbara said. And, by the way, Barbara, where are the promised photos of young Teddy?

Anyway, must go.

You are still all loved to pieces and prayed for.

Be good!

Ted.

A NATION IN PAIN

Who can doubt that there is something deeply wrong in the United Kingdom today?  Everyone seems to be looking out for themselves, nobody seems to care, nobody appears to have any honour or respect - from the top to the bottom.  Half a generation of children are growing up without a father, the government is encouraging children into promiscuity, perversion is honoured, injustice is done in the courts and the poor are robbed by the national lottery.  The Christian Faith itself is under attack from the media. Our politicians lie and cheat, and our soldiers are dying for no reason in a foreign land.  Last but not least, we kill our own children.  The judgment of God is falling on us.  How did it come to this?

I’m still here too

SOMEONE IS STILL HERE

Ted says no-one tells him any family news so he can’t pass anything on.

He is out just now so I have sneaked a look at the figures.

There have been 14,524 people reading the blog this year so far, 1053 in June.

We have 39 registered contributors and contributions from 4 of them this year.

 Monthly contributions were:

January : 10 contributions from 4 people

February: 18 contributions from 3 people

March: 19 contributions from 2 people

April: 1 contribution from 1 person

May: 12 contributions from 4 people

June: 2 contributions from 2 people.

What’s the problem?

Whoops, here comes Ted.  Must post this quickly.

Fly on the wall.

WHERE IS EVERYONE?

Now our dear Mum,Gran, Great Gran has gone from our sight, have we all forgotten those left behind? I’m sure Mum would be sad to see this decline in our blog. As well as caring for Mum, Ted put a lot of work into this communication system. It is quite upsetting to see this lack of info. news, comments (even a weather update!)
Please let us not forget the blog. We are all busy people and give our own immediate families time and news, but Mum loves us all, and her dearest wish was that we should not lose contact with each other.
Sorry for the “sermon”. Love to you ALL, Barbara xxxxxx
