Happy everything to everybody
05/03/2008 by Ted.
Greetings family members. Spring appears to be sprung at last with daffodils all over the place - not to mention a few hailstones here and there.
I am located in Barrow at the present time looking after Grace. For those who don’t already know, I ran her back to Barrow from mum’s funeral and she promptly had a heart attack (must be the way I drive!) so I have been hospital visiting and housekeeping down here since then. Now however she is out of hospital and on a week’s convalescence before resuming normal duties. So, all being well, I should also be able to get back to normal next week.
Peter and Barbara are away in foreign parts at present - until Thursday I think - somewhere called Lanzarote. And Bob in Bridlington is preparing his house for going on the market I understand. At this end I will be sorting out the things from mum’s room at St. George’s. I just piled the stuff into boxes and dumped them on the bed in my spare room until after the funeral and, of course, they are still there. I will also have to sort out the headstone and flowers on (now) dad and mum’s grave and also show my face at St. George’s.
It is a grey day here in Barrow but yesterday was lovely sunshine and quite warm with it. I had a walk in Barrow park. It is coming to life now with spring plants blooming and hundreds, if not thousands, of birds - geese, seagulls, ducks, water hens, and myriads of blackbirds, chaffinches, sparrows and so on. There is a show greenhouse there filled with a wonderful array of plants. I wandered in for a nosey and the fragrance from the flowers was lovely. I am really looking forward to the coming months as everything comes to life again after the winter and it gets (hopefully) WARMER !
In 2007 we had 19,643 visitors to the blog and this year numbers are running at around 2000 per month. I suspect that they are not all immediate family members so remember that if you put a post on the blog do not include personal information such as e-mail addresses, telephone numbers etc. But apart from that keep on blogging and sharing news so that we can keep in touch with each other. If you are not into posting let me know your news and I will post it for you. Remember the Blog motto - The Talbot Family - keeping in touch! Okay, that’s all for now.
Love to all
Ted
